Last night, I found a film on Netflix that I haven’t watched in years. My find was the movie adaptation of Harriet the Spy (don’t even try to talk to me about the Disney Channel modernized version), originally written as a book by Louise Fitzhugh. Having loved both the book and the film as a kid, I was eager to revisit my childhood and watch the film again. But I finished this viewing feeling slightly…betrayed.

The Eighth Wonder: Netflix
It’s no secret that the creation of Netflix and its recent tendency to stream quite the variety of TV shows has forever changed the world of television. Binge-watching has become a common, well-known term in our culture and Netflix has thus given its users the chance to catch up with current shows and discover shows that perhaps aired before the watcher was even born.
A Welcome and a New Beginning
Hello readers!
This blog is an entirely new project for me. I just spent a whirlwind school year writing constantly for both English courses and core classes. I ultimately came away from it knowing that writing was what I am meant to do with my life. And nothing beats the excitement I feel when I get to write about the things I love and know best – the world of entertainment.
Hence the creation of this blog! I will be writing about my favorite books, TV shows, and films, as well as posting reviews and recommendations of the content I take on. My greatest hope for the future of this blog is that my writing will only improve, and that I have the opportunity to introduce people to some outstanding material.
So, without further ado, make yourself comfortable! Wipe your feet on the mat as you come in and grab a cup of tea! Here goes a new adventure!
